As New Moon Rises, Twilight Buzz Refuses to Die

While New Moon gets ready to start shooting in first in Canada and then in Italy, the buzz around Twilight continues to grow. Twilight saves the Economy reads one somewhat exaggerated headline in New York Magazine Vulture Blog. Save, perhaps not. Stimulate definitely. Twilight fans have helped propel teen retailer Hot Topic into the black, even as sales at most stores plummeted. More stimulus is yet to come as ousted Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke gets ready to release a book offering a behind-the-scenes look at how the movie was made.

New Moon Casting Call in Vancouver Filled with Twilight Tears by Larson Hill

Sundays open audition for budding aboriginal actors for the Twilight sequel New Moon in Vancouver drew hundreds hoping for a part in the upcoming follow-up, but the day was filled with tears and disappointment as teens from all over North America were eventually turned away. After an ad was placed on Craigslist that called for Native Indian actors between the ages of 15 and 25 to audition for a part in the upcoming Twilight sequel, hundreds arrived at Vancouvers Second Avenue Studios but were turned away from the doors at 12:30pm when casting assistants announced that no more actors would be seen.
